Late Night Thoughts on May 26th, 2016

Greetings.

Much gratitude to the five bloggers who liked Heartbreak Princess Chapter 56, five likes on Betrayal, two likes on Paris Chapter 23, 4 likes on Heartbreak Princess Chapter 56, 4 likes on All The Things I Could Never Pay You Back For. . . But I’ll Try, and my eighty-seven followers.

Recently, my internet went out for half an hour, limiting the activities that I could do.

As I was reading one of my books, I realized how much I NEED the internet. How much I relied on it on for entertainment and information. The large role that it played in my life, either to write, listen to music, or just do whatever. Then, I realized that I wasn’t the only one who needed the entertainment so badly.

I literally just Googled how many people are addicted to the internet? and this is what came up.

Studies suggest that 1 in 8 Americans suffer from problematic Internet use. Those estimates are higher in China, Taiwan, and Korea where 30 percent or more of the population may experience problematic Internet use.

I scrolled down and found that 420 million people are addicted to the internet.

Like I said, I’m not the only one.

There are over three hundred million people in the US. According to what I just posted right there, one in eight Americans is addicted to the internet.

So, after using my handy-dandy calculator, I found out that (wait for it) approximately 39,862,500 are addicted to the internet.

Considering that there are 420 million people are addicted to the internet, the United States makes up a HUGE proportion of it.

And that makes me slightly worried. How will our future look if the present looks like that?

Really, our future is looking bleak with the internet taking over our minds (Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, FaceBook, Tumblr, etc). The young generation isn’t looking too well, considering that one out of every twenty-five teens is addicted to the internet and kids are getting phones as young as SIX.

So, take them and unplug. Turn off your cell phone, shut down your laptop, silence your iPods and iPads. Who knows what will happen?
